Holy Hell, Why?
So earlier today I was browsing FFN and blah blah blah looking at my fandoms. I decided to take a nap...which lasted 3 hours, but that's not important. Anyways, when I got back to FFN, and looked at a chapter, the Chapter Navigation Arrow Thingies changed shaped. I was like okay, not too big nor horrifically grrr-worthy. What did make me po'ed, was the giant open TEXT BOX at the bottom where the dear Review button was at. It also has different tabs of like 30 social websites and one for FFN. As nice as it is to have the text box there, must it be OBNOXIOUSLY big? And ugly...
It makes me wonder who's designing the website now, and where such grotesque taste came from.
UGHHH!!~

This site just keeps out-annoying-ing itself.

On a side note. I'd been lurking around your profile because I'd been linked to it about a femmeslash prompt fest. Is it still ongoing? I'd wanted to try my hand at a prompt, but I chickened out. -_-

Why, FFnet? Why? Change is good, yes. But too much UNNECESSARY changes is NOT good.
I'm fed up of complaining about FFnet, but they keep on giving folks new material to do so everyday. Maybe this is how it was five or so years ago when they made their last huge overhaul of the site. *shrugs*

As a designer, one thing I learned is that too much is bad and simple is good. And all these changes are making the site look way too busy.
You can google this: Dr. Zizmoor ad.
That is what the website is starting to look like in my eyes. Like someone over-barfed on it.

I just reviewed a real person fanfic to notify that they are in violation of the guidelines and it popped and said the writer thanks you for leaving a comment.
Maybe people will start reviewing things now.
Edit:Also, did anyone find out that ff.net dropped support for unicode symbols?

Why are so many websites turning to GIANT, white-space, bulked-out layouts lately? UGGGH.

And the default settings? Epic fail...

I feel ANs are only justified should something happen and the story will be put on hold/hiatus or that someone won't update cause they're going out. And then they take down the AN and post the chapter when they come back.
But yea, Blogging feature is big huge no-no. While some authors may have good stories. Their attitudes leave much to be desired and I really don't want to hear what's going on in private life. Nor the rants about how life isn't fair blahblahblah. (This is mostly for the teeny authors.)
I mean, if writing on FFN was an escape from real life, why rant about real life crap to your readers in the first place?
I mean no offense...I feel like I'm coming on harsh lol.

I dunno, it's not really ugly or cluttered. Everything is clearly labeled, and really, clicking or unclicking boxes is not a big deal, guys. FFN has made worse stylistic changes.

I'm sorry to hear about that...I'd think I'd have anger issues instead of anxiety attacks...
