Holy Hell, Why?

So earlier today I was browsing FFN and blah blah blah looking at my fandoms. I decided to take a nap...which lasted 3 hours, but that's not important. Anyways, when I got back to FFN, and looked at a chapter, the Chapter Navigation Arrow Thingies changed shaped. I was like okay, not too big nor horrifically grrr-worthy. What did make me po'ed, was the giant open TEXT BOX at the bottom where the dear Review button was at. It also has different tabs of like 30 social websites and one for FFN. As nice as it is to have the text box there, must it be OBNOXIOUSLY big? And ugly...

It makes me wonder who's designing the website now, and where such grotesque taste came from.

UGHHH!!~

And plus, now if you're signed in and review, it has the subscribe to author/subscribe to story boxes checked by default, so you have to specifically go and uncheck them when you review if you don't want them/it on your author/story alerts list.
This site just keeps out-annoying-ing itself.

This means that I can no longer do THAT THING I ALWAYS DO which is open a review box and review as I go along, unless I open up the story in two windows at once and FUCK YOU FF.NET, FUCK YOU SO VERY HARD.

I just came from over at ff.net after reading a couple of stories I have on alert, I honestly didnt notice the arrow buttons at all. What caught my attention was the big fugley box at the bottom of the page.

Yeah, and you should check out the PM inbox box. It's not big of a deal, but I HATE IT! I liked the simpler code-text look from before. Now it looks like a (forced) attempt at appearing new-agey.

Why, FFnet? Why? Change is good, yes. But too much UNNECESSARY changes is NOT good.

I'm fed up of complaining about FFnet, but they keep on giving folks new material to do so everyday. Maybe this is how it was five or so years ago when they made their last huge overhaul of the site. *shrugs*

OMFG! I want to curse like a sailor at the changes.

I just reviewed a real person fanfic to notify that they are in violation of the guidelines and it popped and said the writer thanks you for leaving a comment.

Maybe people will start reviewing things now.

Edit:Also, did anyone find out that ff.net dropped support for unicode symbols?

I got a review alert--which is now called "New Comment" instead -- and went to the site because I figured they changed something again. Decided to read a few fics, got to the bottom and actually laughed out loud.

I was getting ready to post a review on ff.net and the new box makes me really just want to not do it anymore. Still gonna, because I know how nice it is to get an actual review over faves sometimes, but bleh. It's so big and bulky and why is everything suddenly in white... and very flat looking? Ugh, and the FB and Twitter and crap links. Really? *headdesk*

I wouldn't have minded so much if the Follow Story and Author boxes were automatically checked. I'm bound to forget eventually and then I'll be subscribed to a one-shot or completed story or something.

I think the web designers for FFN were in the same class as the web designers for LJ.

Why are so many websites turning to GIANT, white-space, bulked-out layouts lately? UGGGH.

Bah, I just woke up to this ugly thing that's supposed to be the new review box... first of all like many here mentioned I liked having the separate review box too, cause I'd often go over a chapter again when reviewing to tell the author what my favourite parts/quotes were... and secondly, the way this 'box' was done... yuck... I already thought the newly designed review button sucked... didn't think they'd manage to top *that*....
And the default settings? Epic fail...

The clutter looks a little better against a dark background. Maybe. Still waiting for a like/kudos button, though. Or a blogging feature.

I'm in the minority but I actually like the box. It reminds me of Ao3. Hopefully it'll encourage more people to comment. Hopefully being the keyword.

I think this box is a very good idea to encourage reviews (specialy for non english-spoken people wich don't understood what the button was for).

Oh no, you mean we have to click buttons now if we DON'T want to alert the story? The horror.

I dunno, it's not really ugly or cluttered. Everything is clearly labeled, and really, clicking or unclicking boxes is not a big deal, guys. FFN has made worse stylistic changes.

I'm finding this ridiculously obnoxious. I've been wanting to jmp ship for a while, but now I think I'm just going to do it.

I am pissed as hell with the not allowing to block anonymous comments. I had a stalker for 6 months who posted under 2 separate accounts, which I blocked, and then hit me anonymously. I had to turn off anonymous comments to save my sanity. Now I'm going to have anxiety attacks every time a 'guest' comment comes through.

Сталкер это хорошо но реальная зона круче и красивее...

I want the box back, damnit!
