I think the traffic counter is down again. Is anyone else having this problem?

I think it was down for a while and came back again. But something is wrong...I usually have lot more hits after an update than I did this time.

It's been weird for a day or so. Mine seems to be okay now though.

Yes, it seemed to have been fixed, but I am sure I lost some data. Now, though, I can't seem to log on.

Something's definitely wrong. It's recording some of the hits but not all the hits. I tested it by logging on to another computer and giving my story some 'fake' hits. Later when I logged on at home it seemed to have recorded a lot less hits than I'd given.

Yes I figured something was wrong - thanks for letting me know. I too updated recently and I'm geting fewer hits than usual. But it could also be because I changed the rating to M, which means the story isn't on the default page for the fandom, so fewer people are seeing it. Oh, well...I hope it is the former, and the problem gets fixed soon.

Yanno, I once got the hits counter fixed by contacting the help email for new categories/characters instead of general support. I suspect that the person responsible for general support simply ignores emails and needs a seriuos kick in the butt. But the one fromcategories/characters responded right away and fixed within 24 hours...

Something is def up, the traffic counter doesn't seem to be working properly and all of the stories updated 08/04/2010 have disappeared from the default page???

Yes, I am sure now that it isn't working properly. I can see all updates for 8/4 at my end, though, but I believe these 'breakdowns' they have aren't uniformly spread. Some people experience them, and some don't.

The reviews also malfunction. I got three yesterday, but only one shows at FF.Net and the others I only received in my mail account...

Yeah, the reviews show up incorrectly sometimes for me too.

Yeah, I can't access my reviews page at all. Says my story doesn't exist (it better damn well exist!!)

The funny thing is that the correct number of reviews shows, but when you click on them the newest are simply missing :(

But that is still better than getting told your story doesn't exist. I hope they fix that error soon!

*nods* oh, I can see the story, and the number of reviews. It's just when I try to see the reviews page that it's like "huurrrr the story doesn't exist!"

It doesn't look like the problem is going to be resolved this time. At least when there are no hits lots of people complain and something gets done about it. But this partial-recording-of-hits thing is probably difficult to complain about!

I've completely lost faith in the stats. Mine have been much lower for over a week. Eventually the server that stores them will break down completely again.

My reviews are still coming in and haven't heard anything about stories disappearing. So far.

It's been more than a week now, and the problem hasn't been fixed, or even acknowledged. I wonder how long this will continue.

They never acknowledge problems or respond to emails. It's a free site, but it depends on advertising. I'd as soon pay a small amount to get rid of the dmned ads and actually make them responsible to us when we complain.

I agree. I certainly wouldn't mind having a paid account if it stopped all these problems.
I get the feeling this partial hits recording is going to go on for a long time. They might not even bother to fix it.

I wonder how universal it is. Or does everyone just think they've lost readership? How many complaints are tnhey getting and how many of us have given up bothering to report? I once had them tell me they couldn't duplicate the problem (back in the day when they communicated at all). I had to give them my account number plus a few others to prove my case. So it could even be a case of people reporting it and the support team iguring they're all nuts...

This whole spring/summer has been pretty bad -- about the worst I've seen it in a few years...

Is anyone still having problems with their traffic counter. I've also noticed that PM's that I send and receive are not showing up in my account. Does that indicate that there could be a problem with alerts too?

Yes, I am still having problems with mine - going by my tests of it, only half of the hits are getting recorded. My PMs are getting recorded though.

Yes to problems with stats. A third to a half getting recorded. PMs late, but getting through. Seems to affect only certain accounts -- some folks out there are saying they seem fine.

My stats seem to be in the process of being retroactively added right now... interesting rocess to watch because they're going from present day backwards...

Same here! The numbers for the past fortnight or so keep changing everytime I look.

At least they are constantly going up! Would be worse to watch them slowly disappear.
