Holy Hell, Why?

So earlier today I was browsing FFN and blah blah blah looking at my fandoms. I decided to take a nap...which lasted 3 hours, but that's not important. Anyways, when I got back to FFN, and looked at a chapter, the Chapter Navigation Arrow Thingies changed shaped. I was like okay, not too big nor horrifically grrr-worthy. What did make me po'ed, was the giant open TEXT BOX at the bottom where the dear Review button was at. It also has different tabs of like 30 social websites and one for FFN. As nice as it is to have the text box there, must it be OBNOXIOUSLY big? And ugly...

It makes me wonder who's designing the website now, and where such grotesque taste came from.

I didn't know they got rid of the ability to turn off anon reviews. I know I saw a thing about turning on moderation.

On the site it says: "Some individual can take advantage of anonymous reviews to spam an author's story. In these cases, we provide a tool to disable anonymous reviewing for all your published stories."

I can't find the tool to disable the anon so they should take that off.

"Moderate Reviews:

If you have enabled 'Moderate Guest Reviews' in Account Settings then guest reviews will have a 36 hour moderation window during which you can fast-approve or remove these reviews. After the 36 hour moderation window, un-moderated guest reviews will enter the system. You can still remove guest reviews using the 'Remove Reviews' feature."

Because it would be just horrible not to see someone that hates you say, "Go drop dead you *insert profanity here* " I used to get those on a regular basis because I allow anon reviews and have a slightly thicker skin than some. Now you get to moderate it. Oh how fun. And if a big group of people ganged up on one writer, well as you stated, cyber-bullying becomes a large issue.


I can't help but wonder if they are deliberately doing things to make people angry. Unfortunately, this will ride on through just like the entire MA deletion and the changes made during that time. People will grow complacent and then they'll do something else a few years later to annoy people again.
