I've only just gotten into FanFiction (even though I've had my account since 2003) and I hate the fact that if SOPA gets passed, this site that I really enjoy will most likely have to be taken down. I've signed petitions to stop it from going ahead. Have you?

I am lucky, that Germany is one of the European Countries, which will not sign it in the near future.

I've been to two of the protests. I live in Dublin and it's ACTA here. It's so hard to believe in this day and age something like this would come along and threathen the greatest creation in the world. Censorship of the internet is international social socia land intellectual regression :(

Yeah, if you're lucky enough to actually know anyone who write about the character you want to read about, which I don't. I can never find stories about him anywhere other than fanfiction.net. And since reading about my favorite characters is my best form of stress relief if fanfiction.net goes away, or doesn't get fixed one of the times it breaks, I don't think I'll be able to manage. Every time it goes down, I start getting desperate for something new to read, and I can't even work on my own writing, because all I can do is hunt all over for something to read.

In the worst case, fandom will find a way, believe me. One site dies, another is born. It's unstoppable like the streisand effect. :-)
