FF.N, what is your problem with having an exclamation mark immediately following a question mark, such as what I tend to put when a character is particularly exasperated?!

Good question. Been trying to figure that one out for a while, since I love characters to ... ask questions aggressively?!

It's good to see someone else point out this problem. Earlier I found another similar point before I found this one, but I'm glad someone brought it up after all.

I wondered about why they did this too. There is a minor deal with people being too hyper in text ("OMGZ DO UZ LYKES MUDKIPZ!!!?!?!?!?!?11/!!?!!") and it can potentially be annoying if a writer were to, say, cover a paragraph's worth of the page in nothing but !'s, ?'s or the combination of the two, but those instances are few and far between, there IS such a thing as characters becoming extremely hyper, surprised or loud where the example mentioned before may be all the more accepted (if not also a bit toned down), and this is hardly the way to deal with the issue anyways. Why should the rest of us have to pay by turning every exclaimed question incorrect just on the off-chance we were using more than one of either let alone (god forbid) both?! For a while I thought they decided to revoke this because after a few years of inactivity on FF, I read a few fics that had the exclamation question combo in tact. Cue two weeks from the time of typing this response when those few fics were "fixed" too. Gah!
