Story Contrast

So I was bored while reading a story and decided that I would turn it black with the story contrast button. I switched back in forth a few times and then when I tried going back to the white with black text, there was no text! Has this happened to anyone else? I know it's annoying because I really don't think the black background is ver nice. It's ugly because some things stay the same as when they were white.
