WTH is LibreOffice?!?!

"The login area for story and review submission has been disabled while we resolve an issue which has cropped up in the last 24 hours. A recent software upgrade is causing stability problems and we are working to have all the systems back online as quickly as possible."
Took you long enough, ff.net, to actually post something on your news page about what's going on! You should've posted that right before you disabled the log-in! That way your readers and writers wouldn't be so aggravated!
A few weeks ago, I was able to upload a chapter just fine onto ff.net. But when I tried to upload it as a chapter to my story, NOTHING. I just kept getting the stupid, "We are unable to process your request right now" message. Over and over again. So, I thought, "Okay. They're just having some technical difficulties. I'll try again tomorrow." I tried again the next day. Nope, nothing. So, I thought I'd give it a little while longer.
I got busy with real life stuff, so I hadn't thought about the problem for a good week and a half to two weeks. But tonight, I check my e-mail and see I've got a review on one of my stories. Which leads me to thinking, "Hey! I wonder if that problem was fixed!" So I get onto ff.net and try to log-in. What do I get?
"We are unable to process your request right now!"
Oh. My. Gawd. You have got to be kidding me! Seriously?! What is wrong with ff.net??? The problem escalated from not being able to upload a chapter to a story to not being able to log-in? That's a serious problem!
I feel so sorry for my readers. That review I said I got? It was one of my readers telling me to hurry up with the next chapter! The next chapter is done. It's written. It's complete. But they can't read it because ff.net can't seem to figure out what is going on. And now, I can't even log-in to post on my profile or reply to PMs and reviews to let my readers know that I'm on hiatus until ff.net pulls its head out and fixes whatever is making this happen.
This so totally sucks. I can't write without reviews from my readers. They're the very reason I continue writing my fanfictions. Without feedback, I'm at a standstill. The last story in my series won't get finished without the occasional reviews from my readers...reviews that won't be there if my readers can't even log-in!
And to top it all off, I've got to go and download LibreOffice, some program I've never heard about before! I guess ff.net thinks it's better than OpenOffice, which I've been using for years and absolutely adore. I'm downloading LibreOffice right now. It better be a writing program more amazing than the time chocolate was invented, or else I'm going to have to stop using ff.net.
...LibreOffice just finished downloading. I don't get it. It's just a snazzier looking version of OpenOffice. Why does ff.net have to switch over to using this word program? What is wrong with OpenOffice? Why can't they explain these things to the general public? It must say somewhere on ff.net what's going on!
Seriously, ff.net. What's taking so long to fix the problem? The last news update was April 6 and it only talks about traffic statistics being disabled and LibreOffice being the new recommended office suite. Ugh.
I hope this gets resolved soon or ff.net at least posts on their news page what's going on. I want details, please! Thank you.
