I am so completely, utterly screwed.
I want to change my username from one I used in another fandom to the one I use now. However, like a smart person, I created an account with the username I wanted a while ago to prevent anyone else from taking it. It was so long ago, I can't remember what login I used, except that I remember I changed the login email address to a different one. The plan was to log into the dummy account, change the name, then log into the real one, and change the name to the dummy account's original one.
Now, I don't know if it's just me or not, but there's a nasty bug on the site right now, and who knows when or if they'll ever fix it--I can't retrieve passwords. It states that the e-mail is invalid because it's not registered, no matter which one I use. I just LOGGED IN using the same e-mail that it stated was not registered. I've been fighting with this thing for about an hour, because I took it at its word at first that the e-mail I put in wasn't the one I'd used, so I went around looking for any e-mail I'd ever used just in case. I can't recall whether I was able to send the new password request before I started getting errors, but I never received it--and I sent myself a PM, so I know it's forwarding correctly.
What I can't remember is whether I changed the e-mail address to the one I use for a different account, or not. What if it's not forwarding? I hope they wouldn't have let me, because it won't let you log in to two accounts at once using the same password... but if they didn't, there's flat out simply no way I can ever change the dummy account, because I'll never, ever be able to get to it--the login e-mail directs to the real account.
My concern is that, because I post with two different usernames, I'll at some point get accused of plagiarism and I don't trust ff.net to actually do some research (by which I mean, reading my profile to see the link back to my LJ, and my statement that I'm one and the same) before they pull my stuff, and I have 33 stories there, and over 800 reviews that I don't want to lose... I just hate the brick wall of 'you're on your own' that this site presents, with the lack of any support whatsoever. Anywhere else, I might be able to simply send a message to the admins and say, 'hey, here's me proving these are both me. Can you change my username?'

Every single e-mail address I have and every single password I use don't work, which leads me to believe that before it wonked out on me, it DID send a password thing, which probably got eaten and deleted by my ISP's rabid filter (it throws out EVERYTHING).
