[identity profile] pj-in-nh.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] ffdotnetrants
Had a problem this morning while trying to update some of the stories I've been following (so I can eventually upload the stories to my Kindle). Fanfiction.net wouldn't let me copy out the text in the chapter (it would just let me copy out the header info -- which is of no use) -- and I tried using Opera, Firefox, and Chrome, same result with each browser.  I did find a way to work around it by finding the stories in the mobile web  site https://m.fanfiction.net but it's much harder to find the stories you need to copy from.

Back earlier in the month (on the 17th when I last updated the stories I'm following), I had no problems).  I didn't see any postings on fanfiction.net indicating this might happen.  Did I miss something?  It's bad enough FFN have blocked Flagfic from allowing them to access FFN for easy story uploads, but this is just silly.

Fanfiction downloader still works as of last week. Or you can go to the page source code and copy and paste from there. But yeah, they did that a little while ago.

This -- just make sure you have the latest update installed. Raimund is very good at catching code changes quickly, and will alert you as soon as the program's opened.

there is an e reader program called calibre, http://calibre-ebook.com/ you can install this and afterwards you can install plugins for it, one of them is a fanfiction downloader, thats what i use to get stories for my ereader off the site, hope this helps, also the plugin is updated regularly always adjusting the code so it always works, if it stops downloading stories, then wait for an update for the plugin and that should fix the problem
