Etiquette question

Can someone tell if you "unfavorite" their story on FF.net, and is it considered rude? I favorited this one story and then it took a turn that I really disliked, and I don't want it in my favorites now, but I don't want to be unkind to the person.

They don't get an "unfavorite" notification, they would only notice they have less favs if they check the stories stats (and have a pretty good memory XD).

The only way someone will know you unfavourited them is if they go through the list and what the person above said have a good memory of all who favourited it.

I unfav. things WIP all the time b/c eventually some stories just get ridiculous.

Thanks! Now . . . how do I unfavorite it?? I just went over there and got the story up, but when I got to the "follow/favorite" option, it doesn't show that I've already favorited it -- even though it's still showing up on my "favorites" page!
