Getting story alerts out of order

So I subscribe to an author, and they post a new story, about 12 chapters over a few days. But... the alerts are out of order. Two days ago I got an email for chapters 12 and 10, then the next day for chapter 11, and then finally, today, for the new story and chapters 1-6, all out of order. (Chapter 5... new story... Chapter 3...)
Is this ff.net, or my email being failtastic?

I've had this happen before. Maybe about a year or two ago? Can't really remember exactly when, but I know it was awhile ago. So it's not exactly a new problem.

Yes the exact same happened to me few days ago, it had already happened to me some time ago but i thought it had been fixed, how an idiot i was.
