Fan Fiction MIA Once Again
Ooops, looks like I spoke too soon there. Yes, Fan Fiction.net did come back from the ashes once again and of this morning it appeared to work but alas, it appears that the login for the beleaguered site is down once again.
Truth be told, the home page didn't even load as quickly as it usually did.
After trying to log in, the loading hung for a bit and then this message appeared;
"The connection has timed out"
So once again, for whatever reason the site's down again.
The fabulous site, down for everyone or just me (which should be a featured link on the roll at FF.net and Fiction Press's sites) had this to say about the login page for FF.net:
It's not just you! http://login.fanfiction.net looks down from here.
Is this just another glitch in a series of glitches hitting a dying server? Is this some kind of spam war? Is this finally the last nail in the coffin of FF.net?
The truth is, we don't know the answers to this questions and truthfully I'm not sure the crew in charge there knows either. But as always, will try to keep people updated on the latest crisis hitting that site.
UPDATE:
I just received some very delayed update reviews from FF.Net's sister site, Fiction Press which is also down (as both apparently share server space for log in accounts). The reviews were written around noon PST but weren't received until two and a half hours later.
UPDATE: The sites are both back up again after being down for hours. But let's not breathe too hard and move cautiously when close to them lest they break again.
