The ads are driving me crazy

Every time I try to go to fanfiction.net this morning, I get those ads that take my computer to another page. And they're coming up too fast for me to turn on ad-blocker. A couple of times I've been able to get to ad-blocker, but then get redirected to another site before I can enable it. And I haven't checked for new fanfiction yet this morning. I need a way around this, and I can't think of one. (And no, changing to firefox isn't an option, because I had too much trouble the last time I used it, and I just prefer Internet Explorer.)

Re-Editing = No More Story?

Someone mentioned this in passing elsewhere, and it immediately made me nervous:

Has anyone gone in after posting a story, fixed some minor detail they forgot about the first time in Document Manager, and then re-posted the corrected chapter--- only to discover that eff eff dot net made their whole story go "poof"?

As a compulsive re-editor, I'd really like to know if this is a big problem over there right now. Yikes.
