So a couple months ago, I started a "Harry Potter" story (www.fanfiction.net/s/5147280/1/Raven, if you care, by IAmSlytherin). It was majorly OOC (I was warned) and just not written well. I responded with a review that simply said "This is good, but for some reason, there seems to be a lack of plot. It just seems to be going so slowly!". In response, I get told "read another story, I don't cater to crack pots.every chapter has had some event, so go smoke your crack some where else." My response to that? ""Events" are different than "plot". If you are going to get a constructive review, immediately assume that the person who sent it is not only wrong, but a crack pot and accuse them of being so, you are not worth my time. Remind me to spread the word that IamSlytherin is not someone to try and help. If you are so convinced that your story is so wonderful and flawless, what is the point of the review system? PS. My review was perfectly polite, by the way. I just encouraged you to pick up the pace. If you cannot understand that, then why you can write fanfiction is beyond me." They sent me another message, but as it was full of swear words, I will not post it here.
I contacted support and not only told them everything that went on, but forwarded the email messages I got from IAmSlytherin to them. No response.
Now, the other day, I reviewed a story by TheFoundersFour. It was not well-written, and I was struggling to understand. In my reviews, I would say things such as "oh, so is CHARACTER really his father? That would be great... but no, maybe that doesn't make sense. Oh well, I'll find out in the next chapter!". And they message me telling me I had the comprehension of an infant, and so on. They, like the other author, followed up with another insult. I didn't reply, but immediatly contacted support with a long email and forwarded the offending messages.
It's been 4 days. No reply.
Come ON! What's the point of guidelines if they aren't enforced? I'm tempted to tell you to go spam those users, but I'm more mature than that. It's just so FRUSTRATING! I'm tired of 13 yr. olds spamming me and sending abusive messages when I am working on my QUALITY writing (unlike theirs).
