Mystery of the Missing chapters

Hi,

I just tried to post chapter 21 for my FF.net story which is the best I ever wrote. Five hours later, it's showing up on my preview as the 21st chapter but chapter 21 isn't showing up on where my story is posted on the site which still shows only 20 chapters.

I couldn't find the damn blog but I found Twitters and the latest tweet was on how well the 10 minute system upgrade went this afternoon. But guess what, comments are appearing with people reporting missing chapters and the infamous Code I error which I assume shows up when you try to click the link on the "alert" email because the chapter doesn't exist.

I don't care about bells and whistles. I just want to post my damn chapter so people can read it because as I'd said, it's the best ever.

Folks, meet my latest error message when I click the update link on the "alerts".

New chapter/story can take up to 15 minutes to show up.

I haven't uploaded anything yet. But I would try deleting it and reuploading the chapter again. See if that fixes it.

I literally just uploaded a chapter about ten minutes ago and have six hits so things seem to be working on my end just fine.

Yeah I did delete it and update it again. I ran into four other people who had the same problems and we'd all published within one hours of each other during the afternoon. One of them deleted and reposted and that seemed to work so I tried it but the alerts got all screwed up.

Oh wait, two people just posted within the last 30 minutes and got the same errors and missing chapters but I did tell them to do the delete/repost thing.

It looks like at least for some folks, chapters are getting corrupted since at least this afternoon.

I am glad the issue got cleared up for you. - I just remembered something that happened when I updated that might be worth mentioning, when I update a chapter I get a chapter notification sent to my email. And usually it take like half a second after I update for my email to ding. This time it took about two minutes.

Related? - It is probably nothing, but it was significant enough for me to raise a brow at the time.

I uploaded a new chapter last night and everything worked fine for me, the chapter shows up and I got hits/reviews for it.

yeah! My alert was all screwed up when I reposted it and I did have another alert earlier that day that was quite delayed.

Oh my god....my updates that were dated Sept. 6 with the proper number of chapters are now both back to Sept. 3 and Sept. 2 accordingly with the wrong number of chapters on the fandom page.

I'm really not imagining all this.

That helped on one of my stories and by the way, the stories are back with the right number of chapters on the fandom story list page. I posted a new chapter to one of those stories and the alert went out, the story's taking a while to show up but the link seems to work.

My PMs are not working well either!
